There is an e-book in our catalog which has a chapter (#13) on healthcare in Thailand - World Health Systems: Challenges and Perspectives.  Here is the link:  http://saintleo.worldcat.org/title/world-health-systems-challenges-and-perspectives/oclc/859155793&referer=brief_results

(Click on View ebook - you will asked to login with your Saint Leo user name and password; then click on "ebook Full text."

Here is an e-book titled "Health and Healthcare in the United States:"  http://saintleo.worldcat.org/title/health-and-healthcare-in-the-united-states/oclc/42855392&referer=brief_results

As for scholarly articles, you may not be able to find articles that compare healthcare in the US and Thailand.  So you will have to locate articles on specific healthcare topics for each country and then make the comparison yourself.  One example might be "health facilities" or "public health."

Below are instructions on using the EBSCO database to locate articles on your topic:

 Journal Articles - EBSCO Database

Go to our library web page at  www.saintleo.edu/library

Click on Find an Article, under “Quick Links.”

Select EBSCO; this will take you to the EBSCO login page.

To login enter your SLU username [first name.last name] and the password that you use for your SLU email.

Select All EBSCOhost Reference Databases.

Check the boxes next to Academic Search Complete and any other databases that seem relevant to your topic.

(For example: Business Source Complete, Science Reference Complete)

Click on the Continue button at the bottom of the page.

Click on Advanced Search under the search box.

Scroll down the page and check the boxes Full-Text and Scholarly, Peer-Reviewed , if desired.

Enter your search terms, separating phrases by AND, OR, or NOT and then click on “Search.”

(For example:  healthcare AND Thailand AND "health facilities")

Click on the “PDF Full Text” or “HTML” icons to view the article.

If you don't get the results you're looking for, or too many, try other relevant terms.

You could then repeat thesearch above, substituting "United States" for Thailand.

Note:  Once you get your search results in EBSCO, look at the Refine Results menu on the left side of the page.  Scroll down until you see: "Subject: Thesaurus Term."  Click on this and then click on "Show More."  This will give you a list of topics related to your search and will help you to narrow down your results.  Use these topic ideas to make your comparisons.

Also attached are instructions on how to access other library resources for future reference.
