Since most of the required materials for your assignments are "print only" resources, here are a couple of ways to work around this situation. First, you can work with the librarians at the main campus to get the pages you need scanned and emailed to you:
Or, you can find the book(s) in a local library and use the material there. Here's how to find a local library with a copy of the required print-only title:
In addition to the required print-only resources, you are allowed to add other sources, such as the ebook collection named Oxford Biblical Studies, which does have several versions of the Bible along with commentaries, all in full-text online and Gale Virtual Reference Library, which includes Encyclopaedia Judaica and the New Catholic Encyclopedia. Also, you might try using one of the EBSCO modules in the All EBSCOhost Reference Databases collection, such as either of the ATLA (American Theological Library Association) modules, Old Testament Abstracts, or New Testament Abstracts. Religion and theology resources (how to get copies of print-only materials; locating and using available online resources)—REL110RS, REL210RS (Links are located in the Links & Files area.) The video: 1) provides contact information for the librarians at Cannon Memorial Library; 2) demonstrates how to get copies of print-only materials either by using the Book/Book Chapter request form for our library as well as how to find a library local to the student where s/he can go to use the material in that local library; 3) suggests alternate eBooks options, including Oxford Biblical Studies and Gale Virtual Reference Library, along with individual ebook titles (like Commentary on Matthew or Commentary on Galatians, etc.); 4) examines alternate databases for journal articles (EBSCOhost modules from ATLA and the New/Old Testament Abstracts, JSTOR, and Periodical Archive Online); and 5) takes a brief look at the subject research guides for the discipline and the course (for example, the ”UE: REL110RS Emergence of Christianity: Examination of Foundational Christian Texts” LibGuide). |
