You can go to the library's Home page (Link in the Links & Files area) and then type in Saint Francis of Assisi into the Search field.
You will get a lot of results, one of which is this ebook:
Thompson, A. (2012). Francis of Assisi: A new biography. Ithaca, N.Y: Cornell University Press.
(ou will need to login using your Saint Leo University login ID and password to read any ebook or article)
If you need a few articles,, after you do the search, click on the box on the left that says “Peer reviewed Articles” (make sure to unclick the checkbox for ebooks, so that only articles are showing))
The first article in the list is:
Fraser, C. (November 21, 2014). Who was Saint Francis of Assisi?. Veterinary Nursing Journal, 25, 11, 36-37.
then there are quite a few book reviews after that, so you want to go to the next page, and the next – in fact go to #31:
Zhang, X. J. (March 01, 2016). How St. Francis Influenced Pope Francis’ Laudato Si. Crosscurrents, 66, 1, 42-56.
There are a lot of books about this saint, which is why you have to ignore all the book reviews….
You can also go to the library’s databases, and do a search for articles in EBSCO or ProQuest. If there are specific aspects of the saint’s life you are interested in, that might be the way to proceed.
You can also call the reference desk to get help searching and narrowing your topic (800) 359-5945. And there are some great videos in the Links & Files area to assist you as well.
