The library has a print copy of the Catholic Study Bible, and you can request a few pages to be scanned and sent to you. You can also use the YouVersion Bible app or access a Catholic Bible in the public domain online (see links below).

While these are not exactly the same as the Catholic Study Bible, they are Catholic Bibles. Commonly used translations include the Revised New American Bible (RNAB), Revised Standard Version – Catholic Edition (RSVCE), and Jerusalem Bible (JB).

For REL 115, the assigned readings include:

  • Benedict XVI, The Word of the Lord (Verbum Domini) (2010)
  • Catholic Study Bible, eds. Senior, Collins, and Getty (Oxford, 2016)
  • Vatican II, The Word of God (Dei Verbum) (1965)

Verbum Domini and Dei Verbum are freely available online and may also be purchased in print.

The library also has several print books on this topic, including Witherup, R. D. (2014). The word of God at Vatican II: exploring Dei verbum. Liturgical Press.
